morning time.

Morning time is quickly becoming my favorite time of day.

I purposely get up way earlier than I need to so I have plenty of time to leisurely drink my coffee and read blogs and the news before getting ready.

I've found that waking up slowly and taking some time to myself in the morning makes a big difference in my day and allows me to get focused before heading to work. It also gives me time to fully wake up before jumping into the work day.

There's just something so nice about being awake while the world is still quiet and still.

weekend time.

Happy Friday! After a long week of work I am SO ready for the weekend.

My Dad is coming into town from Nashville, and we're going to a NASCAR race in the suburbs. Yes, NASCAR..I'm not the biggest fan, but it should be fun to chill out and spend time with my dad.

Hope you have a good weekend!

sweet home chicago.

Last night I cruised along the Chicago River and Lake Michigan for a work event.

It's easy to get caught up with life and forget what a beautiful city Chicago is. Last night I was reminded of how much I love this city.

Even though I've lived here for 4 years, Chicago is just now starting to feel like home. When I was in school, Nashville was always my home and Chicago my "college town." Now that I'm living in Chicago after graduation and working in the city, I feel like I'm starting to become more of a Chicagoan.

Nashville will always be my real home, but I love being in Chicago for now. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the city and remember how lucky I am to live here.

hello there.

Hello there. Welcome to my blog - yes, I'm joining the trend and blogging now.
Why, you ask?
Honestly, I just need something to do with myself.

I just graduated from college, and, as cliche as it sounds, I'm trying my best to navegate the "real world." It's not quite as easy as I thought. Yes, I do have a grown up job and pay my own bills now. But other than that I'm not exactly sure what about my life is grown up. I still don't really know what I want to do or who I want to be. So, yes, I'm taking the same route as every typical twenty-something girl and starting a blog.

Who knows, maybe I will figure something out along the way.
